Pence is the Fallback Plan

 

I am guessing that in the 2016 GOP convention, the backroom powers made a devil’s bargain to allow Trump as their standard bearer, but they put a man they could control (Pence) as part of the bargain.  He was their fall back plan.  If the situation became unbearable, they could parachute in their candidate and recover the GOP brand.  The Republicans lust for power for the sake of their corporate agenda could not be put at risk just because of a loose cannon that might not deliver.

Now, if the Republicans lose either one of the houses, they have the same plan in order to recover power in 2020.  There will be some “act of Trump” that even they cannot stomach.  He will say the “wrong thing” about the “right people”. Or perhaps Mueller’s investigation will show some serious collusion. Who knows what will be bad enough at this point.  So, the Republicans will “reluctantly” co-operate with the Democrats and impeach Trump in order to restore civility to politics.

Pence will take on the mantle and the GOP will be able to use the obvious obstruction of the lower houses to request a full mandate in 2020 regardless of whom the Democrats field as an option.

This has always been the plan.  They knew exactly what they were doing when they agreed to let “The Donald” run as their leader.  They were harnessing the power of discontent to kill ObamaCare and get the tax cuts for their corporate masters.  These agenda items are what are driving the GOP to such extremes.  And Pence will be their loyal tool for the next round.
